Donations Needed for Free Furniture Day

Submitted by Clifton Tally
Email: ctally37@yahoo.com
Phone:
313-330-7259

Description:
Our friends at Inter-City Baptist Church assist an urban ministry in Detroit on the campus of Wayne State University called Campus Bible Fellowship. Each year Campus Bible Fellowship provides English Language Partners to foreign students. These English Language Partners practice conversational English in conjunction with Bible studies. Each fall CBF conducts a free furniture day in which household goods are given to foreign students, mainly Chinese. The students, scholars and families are picked up by van and taken to ICBC where they are introduced to the gospel purpose of the Church and its ministries. They are then shown the furnishings from which they make their selections. The furnishings are loaded in trucks and delivered to the student apartments. This event is one of the first real encounters with Christians in America these student will have.

After five years of giving these furnishings to students CBF is running low on household goods. If you have any furniture that you would like to donate, you can call Mr. Tally to have the items picked up.

Items needed:
couches
chairs
tables
beds
matrices
floor lamps
table lamps
dishes
pots and pans
table wear
fans
ironing boards
irons
end tables
coffee tables
book shelves

Items should be in good condition and small, apartment sized. They can be picked up through August 21st.

To schedule your items to be picked up please e-mail Clifton Tally and include your name, address and phone number in your email.
Note:  No tax receipts will be given for the donations.
